Our Story: A Legacy of Care
Our practice began in 1980 with Dr. Larry Carr, a University of Waterloo graduate dedicated to providing compassionate, quality eye care. Under his guidance, the clinic became a trusted name in Saugeen Shores, and his values of kindness, humility, and hard work continue to shape our practice today.
In 2011, Dr. Carr’s children, Dr. Greg Carr and Dr. Kristen Robinson, as well as his daughter-in-law Steph, joined the practice, carrying on their father’s legacy. They transformed the clinic into Saugeen Shores Family Eye Care, expanding services and modernizing the facility. Many of Dr. Larry’s patients now trust Greg and Kristen to care for their children, a testament to our enduring relationships with our community.

A Legacy of Care, A Vision for the Future
At Saugeen Shores Family Eye Care, our mission is to harness the power of our technology and education to transform your eye care experience.
We pledge to maintain a warm, welcoming environment that values the trust and individuality of each patient and team member, fostering strong relationships and serving our community with integrity and care.
Giving Back to the Community
At Saugeen Shores Family Eye Care, we’re proud to be more than just an eye care facility—we’re deeply committed to supporting our local community, which has supported us for over 45 years.
We actively sponsor and donate to local events, helping fund initiatives that unite the community. Each season, we also sponsor kids in sports, making it easier for local youth to participate and stay active.
In addition to supporting events and sports, we collect old glasses to donate to the Lions Club, giving them a second life and providing vision support to those in need.
We’re also passionate about sharing our knowledge and connecting with our community. That’s why we participate in local talks and regularly visit local schools to educate students about the importance of eye health.
Affordable Eyewear for Those Who Need It Most
Our team is proud to support our community through our See-It-Forward Fund. This special initiative is made possible by the generosity of our patients, who contribute to helping those in need afford glasses when they otherwise may not have been able to.
We also actively contribute by offering product discounts and volunteering our time to ensure those who need it most can access the eye care they deserve. Together, we’re making a difference and helping our neighbours see the world more clearly.
