Six-year-old Makayla Paquette of Southampton is pictured with Dr. Kristen Carr during an eye exam Friday afternoon. The Ontario Association of Optometrists recommends children have their first eye exam when six months old and again at the age of three before entering school. They should be examined every year after that.

At the directive of the College of Optometrists of Ontario, as of March 17, we will be providing urgent care only and all routine eye care appointments will be cancelled until at least April 7.
